June 20 Baseball Power Ranking - 2005

The American League cleaned up in the last week, winning 58 games against the National League and only losing 26. This has caused a collective rise in the American League teams as well as the home-field advantage measure since the American League had the home-field for these last interleague match-ups. Since every game this season has helped us understand the magnitude of home-field advantage, while there have been less games to give us an understanding of how the leagues compare, the American League benefits more from this weeks success than the home-field advantage measure. About 49 of the American League's wins can be attributed to home-field advantage, leaving 9 wins that count towards the overall ability of the American League. Oakland makes the largest gain this week by a strong performance against the Phillies, as well as a good week for the American League West against the best National League division, the East.
